Bollywood's Dabangg star Salman Khan is a hit among the masses and will take to a single screen theatre here to launch the trailer of his forthcoming movie Jai Ho in their company.

Rather than taking the usual route of organising a press meet for the trailer launch, Salman will unveil the look of the movie in the presence of his fans at the Chandan single screen theatre Thursday, said a statement.

A spokesperson for the film said: "Salman Khan wants people to be there at the launch of the trailer."

This way, the actor will get a chance to watch the live reaction of the audience and he will also interact with his fans and the media present there later.

Directed by Sohail Khan, Jai Ho also features Tabu and Om Puri. It is slated to release Jan 24, 2014.

Actress Bruna Abdullah has been signed for a role which was specially created for her opposite Ashmit Patel in Salman Khan’s upcoming movie “Jai Ho”.



According to a source close to the production unit, “Ashmit and Yash Tonk play Salman’s buddies. Everyone felt there was room for a romantic angle for Ashmit’s character and Bruna was brought in.

“She plays the girl Ashmit loves but he’s unable to express himself. Nadira Babbar (who plays Salman’s mother in the film), Tabu (who plays Salman’s sister) and Salman tease Ashmit about his tongue-tied predicament.”

Bruna also features in a song opposite Ashmit in the film, ‘It comes on right the beginning of the film when there’s a rave party going on. Salman Khan is introduced in the film after the opening song.” reveals a source.

Salman Khan along with his friends try to save the Chief Minister’s life in the climax. ”Mohnish Behl plays the chief minister. At the climax, Salman has to save the CM’s life to save the state from catastrophe. It’s a very patriotic film, says a source.

“Salman, Tabu and Nadira Babbar actually become like one family. They would look after the entire unit. To be honest, everyone was intimidated by Nadiraji.

She is stern and not prone to mauj-masti (having fun) while working. Salman is just the opposite, and there were adjustment problems in the beginning. But these were soon sorted out. Salman went that extra-mile to adjust to Nadiraji,” adds the source.

Salman Khan‘s fans are in for huge disappointment as he has pushed the launch of the trailer of his highly anticipated film Jai Ho by around a week.

As we had reported earlier, Salman Khan was all set to launch the trailer of his forthcoming filmJai Ho on Thursday, December 5, 2013. But there has been sudden change in the plan and the trailer is expected to be launched in the next week, or even a bit further.

Actress Sana Khan who is making her Bollywood debut with Jai Ho tweeted: “The first look promo of Jai Ho will not be launched tomorrow. It will be launched tentatively on December 11, 2013 or December 12, 2013.”

The trailer launch is the talk of the town for two reasons. One is obvious, that it is Salman Khan film, and the other reason is: Salman wanted to launch the trailer in the presence of his fans. Even a single screen cinema in Juhu, Mumbai was booked for the same.

Salman was very clear that he wanted the people who make him, who appreciated him and who love him get to see the trailer of Jai Ho, instead of having a normal press conference with media and selected invitees.

Jai Ho is a story of an upright common man who fights a solitary war against corruption and injustice. The film is a remake of Telugu film Stalin, and also stars Tabu, Daisy Shah and Danny Denzongpa, among others.

It’s been almost a year that Salman has had a release. According to our sources, Salman Khan is doing his bit to promote Prabhu Deva’s R… Rajkumar, starring Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha and the promo may hit the silver screen along with the film.

Jai Ho is being directed by Sohail Khan, is produced by Eros International and Sohail Khan Productionz and is scheduled to release on January 24, 2014.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan seems to be following the footsteps of his good friend Aamir Khan and is using innovative ways for his next release, 'Jai Ho'.

As part of the strategy, Salman Khan, who has a following of over 5.5 million fans on Twitter, invited them to be a part of the poster creation. He had tweeted: "Kal subah 10 baje India time pe link milenga. Click karo aur mere saath Jai Ho ka pehla poster banao. Subah 10 baje India time ok?," Salman Khan had posted.

Ever since Salman Khan's tweet yesterday and today morning asking his fans to help him with the poster creation, 'Jai Ho' has been creating a buzz on Twitter. #JaiHoPosterToday also became one of the top 10 trending keywords on the social networking site.

And finally, Jai Ho's poster was released on Twitter with the help of his fans. Salman Khan tweeted his appreciation to his fans for helping with the poster, "Yeh lo ban gaya apna Jai Ho ka poster http://goo.gl/Evf75Q thanx," he posted.

However, there was a slight problem in the morning when the site's server crashed. "Thanx for the amazing response. lagta hai server hi crash ho gaya! Will be up soon," posted Salman once again.

Salman Khan's fans have been eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of the star on the silver screen after his last release Dabangg 2 (2012). And now, the trailer launch of his next titled Jai Ho will take place on December 12.

The first look poster of Jai Ho had released last week and the trailer was supposed to come out at the same time but due to some undisclosed reason, the trailer release of the film was postponed. Produced and directed by Sohail Khan, the film is based on an army officer who strives to protect his country from a catastrophe.

Jai Ho stars Salman Khan, Tabu and Nadira Babbar, along with newcomer Daisy Shah, Bruna Abdullah, Sana Khan and Ashmit Patel and is slated to release on January 24.

The clock is ticking. Less than 50 days remain now for the release of Salman Khan’s Jai Ho and with Eros stepping in as co-producers on the film with Sohail Khan, the promotional activities are all set to kick-start today. Though it is a norm to be releasing the First Look poster of a film way in advance and the theatrical promo at least two months before the release date, the holdup period for Jai Ho has been pretty much akin to Salman teasing his diehard fan base that has been waiting rather impatiently for months now.

"It was understandable since the idea here is to make less as more. The First Look poster too was kept on hold for a while before being unveiled earlier this week," a source quips, "Perhaps this is Salman’s own way of creating curiosity around the film since it has been talking for itself all this while."

Though during last fortnight, there have been murmurs around the theatrical promo being readied for release at least a couple of times, those who were disheartened while waiting for Salman to arrive on the big screen are all set to be rewarded soon for their patience, what with Sohail Khan and Eros ready to set their plan in execution.

The good news is that today, First Look of the film would be out. The venue is Chandan theatre, Mumbai, where Salman would be interacting with his fans. Also, even though January 24 (release date of the film) seems just round the corner, the interim time period is being considered good enough for the film to create maximum impact in the shortest time possible.

Says Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd., “Audiences are in for a treat with their favourite star springing a surprise with this unusually themed film. We are excited about this collaboration with Sohail for Jai Ho which promises to be high on entertainment.”

Sohail Khan added, “We have worked closely with Eros in the past on the film Partner and I’m looking forward to extending this successful partnership with Jai Ho.”

As for audiences, they are pretty much waiting with bated breath to see what does Salman have in the offering here once the promo goes online all over.

Jai Ho has “Double Blockbuster” written all over it. If less than 30 seconds of a teaser trailer of Yash Raj Films’ Ek Tha Tiger almost shook the servers of YouTube in 2012, the kind of destruction the Jai Ho teaser is going to make will be phenomenal.

The teaser lives up to the expectations. The roaring Salman Khan at the end is perhaps the roar it is poised to make at the Box Office, breaking the years old jinx of January films in Bollywood.

The flip side of Jai Ho: The director. It is Sohail Khan‘s first venture as director. The script is by AR Murugadoss himself, and having made Stalin, one can be rest assured that the script will hit the nail. But, the only risk as of now is the director. Only and only when the film hits the theatres can this mystery be solved, and it can be said whether Sohail Khan has hit the nail too or not.

Superstar Salman Khan, who has a huge fan following of his own and is often termed as Rajnikanth of Bolllywood, wishes to reach closer to the south superstar's stardom.

Hundreds of fans gathered at a suburban theatre to catch a glimpse Khan as he unveiled the trailer of his film 'Jai Ho' this evening.

"I do not consider myself that way (Rajnikanth of Bollywood). As a person, if I come close to him, I would be really happy," Khan told reporters here.

Directed by Sohail Khan, 'Jai Ho' is the story of a man who fights against injustice.

"I stand for justice every say. I consider myself as a common man as I do things which a common man does in day-to- day life. Like I ride bicycle, rickshaw, I prefer taking fresh air while travelling in car, etc. Whatever I am today...A superstar is because of my fans. If they wouldn't have loved my first film Maine Pyaar Kiya, then I wouldn't be here," Khan said.

That was how Salman Khan explained why his upcoming film's title changed from 'Mental' to 'Jai Ho'. The occasion was the launch of the movie's trailer, directed by brother Sohail, and Salman was certainly in the mood for wisecracks.

He said, "We have an Intelligent Khan, Badshah Khan and then there is Saif Ali Khan. I felt some people may start calling me Mental Khan though I wouldn't have had any issues with that. But my dad was not in favour of the title, unko aitraaz tha... he felt Jai Ho sounded better."

Talking about the film's theme of 'People's Man', he said, "I didn't become a star because of my efforts. I still ride a bicycle and at times, travel by rickshaw. It's just that I was born in this film family, you all are responsible for my star status."

Host of Bigg Boss 7, Salman Khan, who is always at his comic best was seen having a gala time with younger brother Sohail Khan. Bigg Boss contestants were also seen complimenting Sohail Khan on his new lean look. The episode will be aired tonight.

★ No Salman Khan in Jai Ho title song !

Even as you read this the crew of Salman Khanâ??s next film Jai Ho is getting ready to shoot the title song of the film at a plush location in South Mumbai. But, but, but the superstar himself will not be present at the shooting venue.

Why is that you will ask? Simply because Salman himself will not feature in the song. "The song will play during the opening credits of the Sohail Khan directed film," a source from the film's set confirms.



The song will serve as a prelude to Salman's opening scene in the film. Salman will make his entry after the song is over. The song has been composed by Daboo Malik's son Amal Malik who has done two songs in the film. His brother Armaan Malik has also lend his voice to one song in the film.

Strangely, on the day when the film's title song is being shot, comes the news that Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman has trademarked the title Jai Ho after his win at the 81st annual Academy Awards in 2009.

Last heard, that Rahman's team and Salman's team are in discussion to solve the issue over the trademark of the title Jai Ho.

★ Salman’s art inspires poster !

He’s made gifts of them, auctioned them for charity and had them analysed by art experts. Now Salman Khan’s painting has inspired the poster for his film Jai Ho.
The poster, which depicts a portrait of Salman drawn in monochromatic tones, resembles the superstar’s own painting style. Salman is known to use the dramatic contrasts between black and white to great effect in his paintings and portraits, as well as small figures that come together to create a larger whole.


“Strange as it may sound, when Salman first came across the script of Jai Ho, he could artistically equate or relate it with his paintings, the way the brushstrokes play out over the canvas,” said an aide of the actor. “He felt the concept, the backdrop for the film somehow, fit with his style of painting. So when it was time to create the poster for the movie, the creative team felt it was only right to be inspired by one of Salman’s paintings and carry that style forward in their rendering. In fact, even the promo of the film, which was recently released, borrows from Salman’s language as an artist, depicting several stick figures coming together to create a larger picture.”


Being the “poster child” of Bollywood will have a whole new meaning for Salman!

Our pick of the trailers this month is Sohail Khan's Jai Ho. While Sohail has earlier directed his older brother Salman Khan in Auzaar, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya and Hello Brother,Jai Ho is his biggest film so far, given Salman's superstardom at this point in time.

What makes this trailer special, is that while it has the entertainment one expects from a Salman Khan film, it also has a message which leaves the audience wanting to know more about the film and what Salman will do in it. Be it for the fact that there has been no Salman Khan movie released in 2013 or his being human asking you to help three other people in the film, the trailer is a sure-shot hit.

Excerpts of our conversation with the filmmaker on why he believes the trailer works:

"I genuinely believe that the trailer creates a world that connects with the audience where they feel that they are a part of the film and that Salman bhai represents the common man. While it was my duty to entertain Salman bhai's audience in the film, what I am pleasantly surprised about, is that given his personal reputation and superstardom, the audience has appreciated the fact that they can take something back home from the film. While we have an ensemble cast and everybody is a part of the film, I believe that my film does not have actors, it has characters. While we will be soon unveiling the other characters in the film, my effort was to first put out the film in the trailer. I always get the most unbiased and honest opinion only from my father who has also seen the film. He saw the trailer and said to me, 'You are on the right track. Jaisi aapne film banayee hai, waisa hi trailer banaya hai. Jai Ho'."

The trailers of David Dhawan's upcoming film will be attached with Salman Khan's next biggie.

The David Dhawan-Salman Khan combination has delivered hits like Judwaa, Biwi No. 1 and Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge and the camaraderie between the two goes beyond their box-office successes.

Recently, Salman rang up David to ask if the promo of his upcoming film Main Tera Hero is ready. Apparently, the actor was keen on getting the trailer of the film attached to his upcoming film Jai Ho. And Dhawan Sr was more than happy to oblige. Main Tera Hero stars David's son, Varun Dhawan, in the lead role.

A source told Mirror, "Jai Ho is a month away from release and Salman has been getting a lot of requests to attach promos of various films with his film. Salman is known to pushing young talent. He had seen some rushes of Main Tera Hero some time ago and liked what he saw. And he wanted the promos of David's film to be attached to it," he says.

The film is currently in pre-production. A source went on to add, "David has agreed to Salman's proposal and the promo of Main Tera Hero will play when Jai Ho hits the theatres on January 24.

Main Tero Hero is releasing on April 4.

The new song from Jai Ho is out and though the lyrics are quite crazy, it’s fun to hear the track and watch the video.

After a fast paced Baaki sab first class and the romantic Tere naina, the makers of Jai Ho have released another song Photocopy. Sung by Himesh Reshammiya, Keerthi Sagathia and Palak muchhal, the new track has Gujarati as well as Hindi lyrics. But Photocopy is not for music lovers or those who prefer soul stirring songs. It’s for all those who love dancing no matter what the music and of course for Salman Khan fans. Written by Kausar Munir, the lyrics of this garba number are quite wacky and the music composed by duo Sajid-Wajid is typical Bollywoodishtyle. Besides quirky lyrics, what’s interesting is Sallu miyaan’s garba moves. While he does all the steps in his own trademark way, Daisy Shah on the other hand grooves gracefully. That’s not surprising considering she is really good at dancing.

The superstar will land the city to promote his upcoming action movie Jai Ho – slated to hit the screens on January 24. Salman will be seen pairing with newbie Daisy Shah in this movie.

Sources informed that Salman would address a press conference at Hotel Tuli Imperial at Ramdaspeth apart from making a short visit to Jhulelal Institute of Technology.

★ Salman Khan visits city to promote “Jai Ho” !

The most dashing superstar of Bollywood, Salman Khan arrived in city to promote his movie “Jai Ho”. Immediately after landing, he went to visit Jhulelal Institute of Technology. After a long wait, he arrived with Daisy Shah, one of the new-comer heroines in the movie.

One of the reporters asked him why he arrived late and if it is his habbit to arrive late everywhere, he got peeved with this question and said that I should have been 100 years earlier.

Daisy Shah stated that it was an absolute pleasure in working with such a versatile actor. She considered herself lucky to have got an opportunity to work with him. When asked how she got this offer, she said that when the casting was going on, the director and the producers must have seen something in her which was why, she was chosen to act in this movie.

While speaking about the movie Jai Ho, Salman Khan said that this movie has action, romance, emotional quotient and thrill. He said that this is certainly a good entertaining movie and a movie which can be seen with the family.

He explained that though the script is written in such a way that the actor goes against the system, gets a good leader and fights with the system against bad politicians.

Many city journalists caught one of the dialogues in the movie where Salman Khan said that when one irks “Aam Admi” then he will tear everyone who opposes him into pieces. The journalists started questioning him about “Aam Admi Party” and their ideologies, his opinion on “Aam Admi”, the politica scenario, and if his film is projecting the political scenario. After many questions, he politely said that these questions should be asked to Arvind Kejriwal and not him.

Salman said: “My film has nothing to do with the Aam Aadmi Party nor with any movement. If the system is corrupt, let the aam aadmi raise his awareness instead of blaming others. I fail to understand why the aam aadmi needs leaders to guide him”.

Asked whether he would support the Aam Aadmi Party in the coming days, Salman replied in the negative, adding ‘Arvind Kejriwal has won the election in Delhi, but he will have to prove himself”.

In spite of the organizers making every possible efforts to make sure that only media is present in the hall, many fans of all ages somehow got in and disturbed the entire press meet.

The gals were beside themselves and were shouting “I love you Salman”. Salman too took it sportingly  and replied I love you too. Many girls would be floating in the seventh heaven today for having got the opportunity to see Salman face to face.

Young Armaan’s track — ‘Toh Aana Hi Tha’ — is a romantic number picturised on Salman himself. Armaan has also sung the title track, ‘Jai Ho’, with Wajid.

Grandson of yesteryear music composer Sardar Malik and the son of Daboo Malik, Armaan has been singing since he was 10. However, he’s currently on a high because Salman has taken him under his wings — a dream come true for all youngsters in the film industry.

★ Salman Khan to distribute his signature bracelet !

Salman Khan has once again retained elements from his real life for his reel outing in Jai Ho, directed by brother Sohail Khan. His much-talked-about entry scene in the film will begin with a close-up shot of his phiroza stone bracelet.

The bracelet becomes the signature of the character, a core part of his identity. In fact, Team Salman expect the accessory to be another rage — just like his one-liners, belt dance and scarf in his earlier movies. “For me, it was a great entry shot for Salman’s introduction in the film,” says Sohail, adding, “We build up Salman’s entry before revealing his face. The bracelet is almost an extension of his personality — something the nation now identifies him with. It was presented to him by my dad, who wears one too.”

Salman will also distribute these bracelets among fans across various cities during the promotions of the film. They have already been ordered in bulk.

Jai Ho, produced by Eros International and Sohail Khan Productionz, releases January 24.
